Hot Shots builds self-esteem, parental bonds, love of reading, and athletic skills

Hot Shots Soccer for Girls goes way beyond most youth sports programs. The non-profit builds soccer skills but also self-esteem, parental bonds, a love of reading, public speaking skills, and art talents.

Unlike most youth sports programs, Hot Shots requires 100% active parent participation in crazy, kid-friendly games (parents put on tutus and have pillow fights)!

Also unlike most sports programs, Hot Shots starts every session with a real-aloud story time and sends each girl home every week with four books to read. The girls speak to the crowd of parents and players each week and each girl contributes to the Hot Shots Soccer Art Gallery. Finally, each girl memorizes the Hot Shots cheer about always trying their hardest to do their best.

Hot Shots is open to all South Shore girls ages 2-8.

Over 24 years, parents of the 5,000 Hot Shots graduates replying to a survey reported the impact on their daughters:

  • 98% were more self-confident
  • 98% were more at ease in social settings
  • 94% were more willing to try new things
  • 92% were more independent

Hot Shots is open to all South Shore girls ages 2-8. The season started Sunday, Jan. 26, but it doesn’t end until Mar. 29 and there are still openings. We have sessions at 9, 10, and 11 AM and we play at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield.
