Hot Shots donates $1,000 worth of books to Marshfield grade school libraries

For the sixteenth year, Hot Shots Soccer for Girls has donated $1,000 worth of books the Marshfield grade school libraries. In ceremonies over the last few weeks at each of the five schools, dozens of current and former Hot Shots girls signed the books and presented them to their librarian. (See each school’s presentation pictures below.)

Since Hot Shots was founded in 1996, the program has donated more than $16,000 in books to the five school libraries.

At the beginning of each year, Hot Shots asks each school librarian for her wish list of books. With a generous discount from Buttonwood Books in Cohasset, the program is able to fulfill the librarians wishes.

The librarians say that during the school year, girls are surprised and delighted to discover their names and the Hot Shots logo inside their books, often saying “I gave this book to the school!”
