Over the last 25 years, more than one hundred former Hot Shots girls have volunteered to be Hot Shots coaches, giving back to little girls the same encouragement, support, affection, enthusiasm, and role modeling that they received when they were teeny Hot Shots themselves.
I’m hoping that some of your daughters might like to join our very special team of committed young ladies who are making a difference in the lives of young girls.
Your daughter doesn’t have to be a soccer player. We have had varsity level athletes, but we have also had coaches who were theater geeks, math lovers, musicians, science types, ballerinas, artists, Irish Step dancers, writers, and more. What counts is their dedication to and love of helping young girls build their self-esteem (examples in pictures at the end of this post).
In addition to the rewards of teaching and seeing little girls blossom from the coaches’ attention, being a Hot Shots coach also has other benefits:
- Babysitting jobs with Hot Shots families
- College, job, and National Honor Society recommendations
- Community service hours
- Scholarships (we have awarded almost $15,000 in college scholarships)
- An annual dress-up affair Coaches’ Appreciation Dinner
- A network of former coaches who are nurses, special needs teachers, data specialists, marketing experts, businesswomen, etc. who welcome current Hot Shots coaches to shadow them to explore a career direction
If your daughter would like to find out more about becoming a Hot Shots coach, reach out to me by text/phone at 617-688-0137 or write to jwilpers@hotshotssoccer.org or click the red button above or below.
The Fall 2022 Season begins this Sunday, Sept. 11, but I’d love to talk with your daughter any time during the season. If she’s interested, I’ll do an interivew with her, and, if she joins us, I’ll pair her with a senior coach to provide guidance. I always encourage new coaches to recruit a friend as it’s more fun for them when they can come very Sunday with a good buddy.
Thank you!
— Coach John
PS Here’s what one coach had to say about her Hot Shots experience:
“Hot Shots has been such a big part of my development; I can’t wait for the day when I can come back from college and help coach again! As a young girl, I didn’t think I’d be good enough to play in college. Hot Shots helped build self-confidence in me at a very young age and taught me to never give up and that’s what I did. When I switched from defense to goalkeeper or when I switched my college sports focus from basketball to soccer, I had the confidence to keep trying. I want to continue to help girls and show them what hard work and believing in yourself can accomplish.”
